Registration Information
Early Bird Registration for valid Heritage Park Annual Pass holders begins on March 6, 2012.
Proof of your child’s valid annual pass is required upon registration. Please bring your child’s annual pass with you when registering in person. If registering by fax, please send a photocopy of both sides of the card with your registration. Annual passes may only be used to register the holder of the pass for camps. Extended family or friends of Annual Pass holders do not qualify for early registration.
General Registration begins on March 13, 2012. Space is limited. Please book early to ensure your spot. Register in person or by fax.

One Week Day Camps
Monday to Friday - 9:30am to 4:00pm.
Cost: $250 + GST
Ages 6-8 ~ History Hunters
Step into the shoes of a pioneer child and uncover the mystery of 1910 history! In our History Hunters day camp program, participants discover the past through activities, games and crafts that children their own age may have taken part in over 100 years ago. Campers dress in historical costume and become part of our lively historical village for one week; one they will surely remember forever!
Highlights of becoming a History Hunter:
- Experiencing lessons in the Weedon one room school house.
- Making butter the old-fashioned way.
- Collecting eggs at the Burnside Ranch.
- Riding on the Park’s thundering steam train.
- Visiting the Thorpe House to sing and play musical instruments.
Ages 8-10 ~ Time Travellers
Take a journey back in time! In our Time Travellers day camp program, participants experience over 150 years of Western Canada’s history in just 5 days! Campers’ days are filled with excitement and fun as they travel through time; beginning on Monday at the 1860s HBC Fort and Aboriginal Encampment, exploring the 1880s settlement, touring the 1910 town, and finishing at the 1930s/40s Gasoline Alley on Friday.
Campers have so much fun, they won’t want to return to the future at the end of the week!
Highlights of becoming a Time Traveller:
- Trading for furs at the Hudson’s Bay Company.
- Joining the North West Mounted Police as a recruit.
- Visiting the Carriage House and grooming our horses.
- Making ice cream in a hand cranked churn!
- Exploring the hayloft in the Copithorne Barn.
OVERNIGHT CAMP OPTION
Monday mornings at 9:00am to 4:00pm on Friday.
Cost: $525 + GST
Ages 11-14 ~ Home on the Range
Calling all Ranch Hands! Wanted: young men and women to work on the Burnside Ranch at Heritage Park! Discover the lifestyles and activities of settlers and ranchers at the turn of the century. The Home on the Range overnight camp program immerses campers in Alberta’s ranching and agricultural past. Participants spend a week living at the Park and sleep in the restored Burn’s Barn bunkhouse, home of the Talisman Heritage Education Centre. This immersive experience will become a once in a lifetime memory for campers!
Highlights of becoming a Ranger:
- Completing daily ranch chores – like feeding the Park’s animals!
- Visiting the Aboriginal Encampment and cooking bannock on a stick.
- Becoming a teamster and learning to drive a wagon.
- Participating in an authentic Barn Dance, complete with live fiddle music!
- Making new friends and sleeping in a bunkhouse.
