The Prince House Lawn or Gazebo lined with ornate flower beds, the spacious Didsbury Bandstand, or the private treed areas at Millarville Ranchers’ Hall are also one-of-a-kind locations available for evening outdoor ceremonies*.
A unique opportunity awaits you aboard the S.S. Moyie* as you exchange your vows on the sparkling waters of the Glenmore Reservoir .
Our historic park features 127 picturesque acres offset with the scenic Canadian Rockies providing the perfect background for your photos. Let Heritage Park's horse-drawn carriage escort you around the Park for an hour as you get your wedding photos taken at the many picturesque settings. *

Picnics & Barbecues
For a memorable picnic for anywhere from 100 – 1000 people, consider the Celebration and Chautauqua Tents located within Heritage Park.
We will reserve a spacious tent for your party and set up an impressive lunch buffet for your guests to devour.
A large green space is adjacent to the tents and available for your enjoyment, and of course, the whole town will be alive with activity during summer hours of operation*.
Enjoy a wonderful day experiencing Canada’s largest living history museum.

Corporate Seminars & Meetings
If you would like to get out of the office for a day, we have the perfect retreat location for you, and you never have to leave the city.
Our 1885 replica of Calgary’s first Town Hall provides an intimate meeting space with its large council chambers and stunning solid oak boardroom table. The Town Hall is truly a unique atmosphere for small meetings and seminars.
Millarville Ranchers’ Hall, located in the tranquil setting in the Park’s settlement area, has a natural rustic charm, which boasts the tradition and comfort of yesteryear.
The Gunn’s Dairy Barn is ideal for mid-size to large size group meetings. This two-story venue provides an opportunity for breakout space on the upper level, while meal service is on the main floor.
Venues available year-round, but in a limited fashion during Historical Village operating season from May through October.

Entertaining 500 – 2000 people all evening* is made simple when you let them loose within Heritage Park.

Christmas Parties
Have yourself a merry little Christmas this season at Heritage Park!
The traditional atmosphere of Heritage Park is a seasonal Calgary favourite, with multiple venues to accommodate your holiday party. The Park will be all decked out in our time-honoured holiday best.
Begin your evening with cocktails, sing carols with a barbershop quartet or tour the park on one of our horse-drawn wagons. Follow this with a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings, or a festive deluxe buffet dinner.
Whether you are looking to host a formal sit down dinner for up to 400 guests or a casual stand-up cocktail party for 1200, Heritage Park can attend to your holiday party needs.

Millarville Ranchers’ Hall
For a small, intimate lunch, dinner or reception in a rustic log building, consider Millarville Ranchers’ Hall. Located in the tranquil settlement area of Heritage Park, this venue offers the charm of simpler times and boasts a colorful social history. Built in 1895, the hall hosted casual dances and fancy dress balls, political rallies and boxing matches.
Daytime Minimum*: 25 guests, buffet meal
Evening Minimum**: 40 guests, buffet meal
Maximum for buffet service: 60 guests
Canmore Opera House
Built in 1898 and recently relocated and refurbished by Heritage Park, the Canmore Opera House is an elegant choice for an event. The site is distinguished by being the only known log opera house in the world. A large stage, hardwood floors, rich burgundy draperies and grand piano add to its appeal.

Railway Orientation Centre
An elegantly constructed reproduction of Calgary’s first Canadian Pacific Railway station, this handsome space offers the perfect place for a mid-size group meeting or dinner. Overlooking the Glenmore Reservoir, and the traditional railway gardens, this venue will not disappoint.

Gunn’s Dairy Barn
It truly was a dairy barn! … complete with cattle in the stalls and hay in the loft. This fully refurbished casual venue offers western ambiance ideal for medium to large receptions or fun corporate functions. Meal service is provided on the main floor with the upper level for your authentic barn dance.
Daytime Minimum*: 48 guests, buffet meal
Evening Minimum**: 80 guests, buffet meal
Maximum for buffet service: 128 guests
Wainwright Hotel
For a more formal meal or reception consider the fashionably decorated Wainwright Hotel. In the elaborate style popular in the early 1900s, the hotel features a spaceous entrance, authentic saloon and elegant Victorian style dining room.

Evening Minimum**: 140 guests, full meal
Maximum for served meal: 184 guests
Gasoline Alley Museum
Your guests will be surrounded by vintage vehicles, transportation memorabilia and artifacts from the early days of the automobile. Steeped in automotive tradition and nostalgia, the new Gasoline Alley Museum will transport you back to a revolutionary era in western Canada’s history.
Evening Minimum**: 250 guests, full meal
Maximum for served meal: 400 guests
Chautauqua Tent
In the early 1900s Chautauqua tents hosted traveling shows of all types. In our permanent Chautauqua Tent we can host yours! Complete with a stage, western décor, and bar service it is the perfect setting for a casual evening gathering or a daytime picnic. Available from May to October.

Evening Minimum: 200 guests, buffet meal
Maximum for buffet service: 350 guests
Celebration Tent
For larger groups, consider the permanent Celebration Tent also complete with a stage, western décor, and bar service. Available May through October as well as during the Christmas season for children’s holiday parties.

Maximum for buffet service: 1000 guests
St. Martin’s Church
This intimate setting creates the perfect atmosphere for a unique wedding. The wooden pews, authentic potbellied stove, and charming windows create a warm glow in this 1896 exhibit.. Ceremonies must be performed by an ordained minister.
Maximum capacity: 50 guests
Exhibits, Shops and Rides
Experience the entire town by enjoying the numerous exhibits and rides. We can open our Vilage shops for your guests shopping pleasure. We can arrange for exhibit buildings to be open and staffed with costumed interpreters. The antique midway, steam train, S.S. Moyie, horse-drawn wagon rides and horse-drawn carriages are all available for private rental in conjunction with your catered event during the evenings of our summer operating season.

Catering & Sales
Heritage Park’s venues offer a perfect setting for your event - whether it’s a casual barbecue, a sophisticated corporate dinner or an elegant Victorian style wedding. Many of the exhibit buildings are authentic, some of which are over a century old. The buildings, furnishings and artifacts have been collected, assembled and preserved to create life in western Canada as it was a century ago.
With a variety of venues to accommodate any size of group, whether you are a group of 30 or 2000, you will feel right at home. Heritage Park is an ideal choice for your catered event that your guests will be talking about for years to come.
Consider an early evening sail on the reservoir aboard our paddle wheeler, or a tour of the 1914 prairie town by steam train, horse-drawn wagon or on a romantic horse-drawn carriage. Experience the antique midway, arrange for an authentic Stampede rodeo, watch a wild-west gunfight or just take a stroll down Main Street.
