Handcrafted: A Kick Off to St. Patrick's Day
Brewmaster's Dinner with Ashley MacIsaac
Calgary, AB – On Thursday March 16th, two iconic Calgary organizations, Big Rock Brewery and Heritage Park Historical Village will collaborate on a one-of-a-kind culinary experience and an incredible evening of entertainment.
Handcrafted: A Kick Off to St. Patrick’s Day is an inaugural Brewmaster’s Dinner at Heritage Park that unites Big Rock Brewery’s innovative craft beers with Heritage Park’s exceptional culinary offerings.
The event takes place in Gasoline Alley Museum and is the perfect way to kick off St. Paddy’s Day! Guests are greeted with complimentary tastings of Big Rock beer and a selection of hors d’oeuvres. They will also get to sample, and help name a brand new, limited edition Heritage Park brew.
Executive Chef Leighton Smyth and Big Rock Brewery Brewmaster Paul Gautreau have designed an imaginative, Irish-fusion, four–course dinner, fittingly paired with Big Rock’s finest.
Chef Smyth’s menu pays tribute to his Celtic roots, yet features local and seasonal ingredients, with many dishes incorporating Big Rock’s Signature Series brews. The evening starts with a Brome Lake Duck Confit Cabbage Roll, followed by Potato & Big Rock Traditional Soup and a Braised Beef Oxtail Ravioli. The star of the main course is a Driview Farms Roasted Lamb Loin while a decadent Orange and Chocolate Big Rock Winter Spice Ale Cake rounds out the meal.
Following dinner, guests will be treated to an intimate musical performance by Canadian icon, Ashley MacIsaac. One of the most celebrated Canadian roots musicians of all time, having sold in excess of 500,000 albums, Ashley has garnered international acclaim by playing the fiddle in that hard-nosed, traditional Cape-Breton style, while adding his own spin, mixing genres and updating Celtic music to appeal to a broader spectrum of fans.
Handcrafted: A Kick Off to St. Patrick’s Day is a coming together of the best of the best; unparalleled craftsmanship courtesy of Big Rock Brewery, unforgettable dining conceived by Heritage Park and Ashley MacIsaac’s incredible music, which is guaranteed to get you on your feet!
