Nov. 15 - Dec. 16, 2023
9:30 am to 11:30 am or 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Come step back in time and observe the Christmas traditions of the Roaring Twenties in Nellie's elegant home. Students will learn how Christmas traditions were much different in the ’30s and ’40s when rationing was introduced. See how the emphasis shifted more to family and friends and away from the material aspects of Christmas. Students will also learn to make a traditional 1940s style soup, and finish off their visit making an old-time Christmas ornament.
Exploring the Park before or after a school program is NOT permitted. The Village is closed at this time.
Each program is designed for a maximum of 30 students due to space restrictions within the buildings. If you have additional students please call the education team to discuss if this accommodation can be made. The program fee includes 30 students and the adult supervisors within the required ratio. Teachers are included in this ratio. A fee will be charged for any additional students or adults. There is no charge for one-on-one aids. If paying for any additional adults and/or students, no refund will be granted if numbers change the day of the program. The credit card used for payment will be kept on file until the completion of the program.
Please contact us for subsidized rates if needed for your school.
