Explorers and Ecosystems (Grade 7 and 8: Sciences)

Description

This day-long program offers outdoor exploration at the Bissett Wetlands and classroom water quality testing at our indoor Learning Lab. Students will  explore the historical and cultural context of Alberta’s watersheds. They will discover how human perspectives about ecology have changed over time. This program examines the wetlands as a source of water, food and recreation for Native peoples, explorers and early settlers. Students will learn the interconnected aspects of our environment and be able to put them into a social and scientific context.

  • Ratio: 1 supervisor / 10 students

  • Program times: 9:30am - 2:00pm
