This program covers four distinct groups who defined their place on the Prairies through their faith. Shared values and beliefs helped to sustain communities in a tough and demanding physical environment. It provided them with a strong connection to ancestors, homelands left behind and fellow believers. These people are represented at Heritage Park through the following exhibits:
Option A: First Nations' Encampment and Our Lady of Peace Catholic Mission
Option B: St. Martin’s Anglican Church and the Jewish Montefiore Institute
Students will discover the significance of these sacred spaces and study the symbolism of objects and traditions associated with each.
