Escape Today, at Heritage Park Historical Village!
Calgary, AB – On Saturday, May 20, the Historical Village at Heritage Park will open for its 53rd season. Gasoline Alley Museum and the Historical Village will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and one admission price gets visitors access to both, and includes all rides.
The midway will be in full swing, the candy jars fully stocked and the deck of the S.S. Moyie freshly swabbed in anticipation of another great season! New this year, guests can enjoy a 20% discount off their daily admission every Tuesday and Wednesday, and should be on the look-out to spot “Spot”– Heritage Park’s furry mascot and star of the new television commercial.
This season, visitors are invited to discover 150 reasons to return to Heritage Park often! Everyone loves the train and bakery, but there are so many things to see, do and experience that will keep Park guests coming back! Visit http://www.heritagepark.ca/150-reasons-to-visit.html for a checklist of 150 experiences you can only have at Heritage Park, and are all included with an admission or an annual pass. Take a tour back in time on a horse-drawn wagon ride, play traditional Aboriginal games in the First Nations’ Encampment and churn–and eat–old-fashioned ice cream on the porch of the Ranch House. Watch a jaunty musical melodrama in the world’s only log opera house and train to become a voyageur in the Hudson Bay Company Fur Trading Fort. These are just a few of the activities guests can experience on their next visit.
The Selkirk Grill Restaurant is kicking off the summer season on May 19 with an official Patio Opening Party. Drink and food specials will be on the menu. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and Tuesday through Sunday for dinner. Dine indoors for some historical ambience or soak up the sun on the beautiful patio which overlooks Heritage Town Square. The restaurant features elegantly prepared Canadian cuisine with a local flavour and features the heirloom herbs and vegetables grown in Heritage Park’s own gardens. The new menu and reservations are available online at http://www.heritagepark.ca/the-selkirk-grille.html
