Keeping Canada’s largest living history museum running smoothly is a combined effort by our various divisions. Browse the Society Divisions below to learn more about their contributions to Park operations.

Facilities and Maintenance

This division coordinates regular building and grounds maintenance as well as capital construction projects, which are undertaken by staff or by tender, depending on their size and complexity. It is also responsible for maintaining and staffing our seasonal railway operations, midway rides, S.S. Moyie paddlewheeler, and streetcar operations. The division employs a variety of trades on a year-round basis, including mechanics, carpenters, painters and grounds maintenance workers.

Food Services

This division is responsible for the year-round and seasonal catered events, restaurants, concessions, kitchens and group sales.  It employs a variety of trades on a year-round basis, including chefs, cooks, dishwashers, servers, bakers, event planners and housekeepers/porters.

Funding Development

This division plans and coordinates fundraising initiatives through special ticketed events, as well as annual and capital fundraising campaigns. The professional fundraisers in this department actively seek and encourage support from individual donors, corporations and all three levels of government.

Finance and IT

The Finance and IT division is responsible for all of the Park’s accounting and treasury functions, as well as gate admissions. In addition to accounting professionals, employment opportunities in this division include gate hosts and cashiers. IT services and support are contracted to an external party.

Human Resources

This division develops, coordinates and oversees a variety of staff programs, including employee and volunteer recruitment, training, performance management, compensation, payroll, pension and benefits administration, and employee and labour relations.

Interpretation

The Interpretation division is responsible for all aspects of our year-round and seasonal educational and interpretive programming. Positions include exhibit interpreters, First Nations programming interpreters, roving character actors, teamsters and ranch and stable hands. Our costuming and curatorial staff are also part of the Interpretation division. Our educational programming includes a variety of adult and school programs as well as our summer camps.

Marketing and Special Events

This division is responsible for the organization's year-round marketing, corporate branding, communications, public relations, market and customer service research, annual pass sales and website management.  In addition, the Park's major special events are planned and executed from this area.  Our guest services department that fulfills the call centre and reception role are also part of the marketing division.

Protection Services

This division develops, coordinates and oversees safety and security programs for the employees, volunteers, guests and assets of the organization. Our security operations run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Retail and Warehouse Operations

This division is responsible for all of our retail enterprises, which include five year-round shops in Heritage Town Square and those in the village that are open only in the summer, featuring our famous Claresholm General Store (candy store). Our Main Warehouse and Retail Warehouse are also part of this division.
