Volunteering at Heritage Park is a fun-filled, rewarding experience.
As a registered charity, Heritage Park is thankful to have a dedicated group of volunteers who help us connect guests with the history of the early West. Bringing the past to life takes a lot of talent from the present! Join our amazing team of volunteers.
Volunteers lend their skills to our year-round operation in carpentry, painting, decorating, ironing, clerical and more. These positions are generally on weekdays, during the day, and require a regular, weekly commitment. Special event volunteers help us during our major Park events. From cookie decorating to crowd control, these short term and mostly weekend positions are a great way to start volunteering at the Park.
How do I Volunteer?
We begin preparing for the season much earlier than you might think. Volunteer Information Sessions are offered February to April, interviews are conducted, and new volunteers are provided orientation training – all before opening day in May! We kick off the season with two of our largest events, Day Out With Thomas and Festival of Quilts, each of which rely on more than 120 volunteers a day for success. This year we are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to join our team during special events and for the summer season.
Our next recruitment drive will begin in February 2019 with Volunteer Information Sessions where we will present details about Heritage Park’s volunteer program. Volunteer requirements, expectations and opportunities will be discussed, and there will be lots of time for questions.
