Paid Parking at Heritage Park Historical Village to Begin May 2, 2016
April 19, 2016 –Calgary, AB – Consistent with many other attractions in Calgary, a parking fee will be implemented at Heritage Park Historical Village beginning on Monday, May 2, 2016. Parking at Heritage Park will be managed by Calgary Parking Authority through ParkPlus.
As a registered charitable organization responsible for connecting people with the settlement of Western Canada, we are challenged with the ongoing and ever-growing preservation and upkeep of the Park’s 127 acres and 182 exhibits. The costs to operate and maintain Heritage Park increase each year. Proceeds collected from the parking fee will help ensure Heritage Park continues to educate, entertain and preserve history for generations to come.
Parking will be $5.00 for a full seven hours if you arrive between 6am and 5pm, and up to $20 for more than 7 hours. This fee will not apply to those who hold a valid General, Senior or Family & Friends Annual Pass Plus. They will receive complimentary parking valid from one hour prior to the Park opening to one hour after Park closing, year-round. Annual Plus Pass holders will receive information on how to register their license plate(s) with Heritage Park. For those shopping or dining in the plaza there will be a 1.5 hour grace period where no parking fee will be charged (registration required). We will offer a reduced evening rate of $3.00, beginning at 5pm, for events that run longer than 1.5 hours. We would like to encourage our guests to participate in alternative transportation such as car pooling or taking public transit. For more information, please click here.
