Train Ride Schedule

9 am, 9:40 am, 10:20 am, 11 am, 11:40 am, 12:20 pm, 1 pm, 1:40 pm, 2:20 pm, 3 pm, 3:40 pm and 4:20 pm.

Other Important Information

The train will do three laps around the Historical Village; in total, this will be an estimated total ride length of 20 minutes.

All train rides will depart from Midnapore Station, the first train station you'll see once you enter the gates and make your way into the Historical Village.

Please arrive at Heritage Park at least one hour before your train departure. If your train ride is at 9 am, please enter the Historical Village when the gates open at 8:30 am and go directly to Midnapore Station. 

Please arrive at Midnapore Station at least 30 minutes before your train ride. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the front gates of the Historical Village to Midnapore Station, so please keep that in mind when planning your visit!

Strollers are not allowed on the train ride, but there is an unsupervised area at Midnapore Station where guests can leave their strollers and pick them up once they are finished with their ride. All train rides will return to Midnapore Station at the end of the ride.

All guests from the ages of 0 to 17 years old must be accompanied by someone 18+ years old in order to ride the train.

Do Annual Membership holders get free admission to Day Out With Thomas?

Annual Membership Holders do not get free admission to Day Out With Thomas.

Is parking included in admission?

Parking is not included in your admission, but it is available at the Park. Parking kiosks are located in the middle of the parking lot and in Heritage Town Square. If you’re an Escape Annual Membership holder, parking is free!

Is the train wheelchair accessible?

The train is currently not wheelchair accessible. Heritage Park is currently constructing a fully accessible railcar; you can learn more about this project here. There are shuttle buses available to transport guests with mobility challenges throughout the Historical Village.

What should I wear to Day Out With Thomas?

Please dress for the weather, and make sure you're wearing comfortable walking shoes, as there is a variety of terrain within the Historical Village and a lot of ground to cover!

Are there bathrooms on the train?

There are bathrooms located at Midnapore Station, but not on the train itself.

Can I bring my pet to Day Out With Thomas?

Pets are not permitted in the Historical Village. Service animals are allowed within the Historical Village.

Can I bring my bike, skateboard, rollerblades etc. to Day Out With Thomas?

Skateboards, bikes and rollerblades are not permitted within the Historical Village.

Are tickets final sale?

Yes, all tickets are final sale. Day Out With Thomas will run rain or shine.

How does buying a ticket support Heritage Park?

As a registered charity, proceeds from Day Out With Thomas will allow Heritage Park to continue engaging audiences with immersive experiences and shared stories of Western Canada's diverse culture and heritage.
