From Rust to Glory
Gasoline Alley Museum
Tuesday, January 29- Sunday, April 28, 2019
10:00 AM-4:00 PM
(Closed Mondays, except statutory holidays)
Gasoline Alley Museum will feature a series of displays presenting the art of vehicle and gas pump restoration. Through pictures, text and audio-visual media, we will demonstrate the process of bringing new life to old metal.
Dedicated amateurs and professional car enthusiasts alike spend countless hours bringing their visions of the past to life. Experience the restoration process from a rusty hunk of metal in a farmer’s field, all the way to the stunning, historic masterpieces in our collection. Learn what it takes to make these vehicles road-worthy, and about the people who make this incredible transformation a reality.
From Rust to Glory will place the spotlight on the stories of several of our most interesting vehicles and pumps. A special feature of the display will be a partially restored 1928 Ford Model A roadster pickup truck. We will document their journey from obscurity and potential oblivion through the restoration process to the glory of Gasoline Alley.
You’ll also have the opportunity to discover the stories of some of the individuals who saw the value of these potential masterpieces and took them from rust buckets to historic artifacts and works of art.
