The Strathcona Mounted Troop

Witness the pageantry and excitement of the Strathcona Mounted Troop as they bring history to life with their legendary musical ride. Canadian Forces soldiers dressed in 1920s period uniforms and mounted on horseback will perform a spectacular musical ride, tent pegging demonstration and finish with an exciting historical cavalry charge! The Strathcona Mounted Troop will parade through the Village Centre, before performing their musical ride at 2:00 pm.
In addition - the village will be buzzing with activities including:
- The Chinook Country line dancers
- Try your hand at calligraphy with The Bow Valley Calligraphy Guild
- Live theatre, a brass band and much more!
Don't miss the wondrous spectacle of Canada’s original musical ride!
Be one of the first 500 guests through the gates before 10:30 a.m. and enjoy a complimentary pancake breakfast in Gunn’s Dairy Barn.
Please note- The train will cease operations from approximately 1:45pm - 3:00pm during the Strathcona Mounted Troop ride.
