This is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
Visit the Heritage Town Square and celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day with an outstanding array of cultural and musical performances.
These events are FREE, and will run rain or shine.

Learn a few steps of traditional Metis jigging.
11:00 AM The Calgary Metis Cultural Dancers/Foothills Jiggers
Thrill to a performance by this energetic and engaging group of dancers.
12:00-2:00 PM The Games People Play
Try your hand at some traditional Blackfoot games with Heritage Park’s knowledgeable and engaging interpreters.
2:00 & 3:00 PM Eya-Hey Nakoda
This exciting and colourful group is made up of singers, dancers and drummers from many tribes. They love to sing and make dancers dance!
6:00-8:00 PM Ira Provost
Through his music, singer, songwriter and recording artist Ira Provost
shares his love and knowledge of Blackfoot culture. Through his artistry, Ira creates and maintains a positive and accurate image of Canada’s Aboriginal people.
