Monday to Friday: 9:30am to 4:00pm
With a little imagination, an old-fashioned costume and all of Heritage Park as a backdrop, your kids will go back in time in the Prairie Explorers Day Camp!
Through hands-on activities, playing games and exploration, they'll discover what life was like for kids their own age over 100 years ago!
This is five days of unique experiences you won't find anywhere else.
- Groom a 1-ton draft horse
- Make ice cream from scratch
- Send a message by telegraph
- Create an old-fashioned toy
- Explore an underground coal mine
Campers will be divided into 4 groups based on age. COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place as per Alberta Health Services guidelines. We will continue to monitor guidance from health authorities and will adjust our programs as necessary.
Registration is now open for annual pass holders. Your valid pass number will be required upon check out. Registration opens for the general public on February 9th.
The weekly Prairie Explorers day camp has a fee of $299.00

Lunches and snacks
Participants are required to bring their own nutritious lunch and snacks each day. Access to a microwave or refrigerator is not available. Additional information will be forwarded once registration is confirmed. Due to potential allergies, peanuts or peanut products are not permitted.
For the safety of your child, we ask that you please advise Heritage Park of any medical conditions your child may have at the time of registration. This includes allergies to dust, dander, animals, etc., as participants may be taking a horse-drawn wagon ride and will be exposed to animals.
An informed consent form will be included in your registration package. This must be completed, signed and returned to Heritage Park a minimum of two weeks before camp starts.
Withdrawals and transfers
A fee of $100 will apply for cancellations up to three weeks before your camp start date. There will be no refunds issued after that date. Transfers are permitted up to one week before the start of a camp, subject to availability.
