Here’s the perfect introduction to the world of beekeeping. An experienced beekeeper will lead this unique two hour experience.
Here’s a perfect introduction to honeybees, ideal for curious grownups and a blast for eager kids. It’s a great way to get started in backyard beekeeping. A professional beekeeper will lead this unique two hour experience. You’ll take part in opening up Heritage Park’s honeybee hives and get to know something of the bees’ seasonal behavior. Top the whole thing off by taking home a sample of honey, fresh from the hive. This workshop is very popular, so register today.
Participants drive into the Park and meet at Shepard Station. Please wear long sleeves, long pants and a hat - protective equipment will be provided. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the course. Recommended for ages 10+.

About the bees at Heritage Park:
Heritage Park is pleased to partner again this year with Apiaries & Bees for Communities to host six honey bee hives through the Bees4Communities Program. These hives are managed by A.B.C. Bees on behalf of their corporate partners. The purpose of the project is to connect local ethical and responsible businesses to support local food production, support small scale and urban beekeeper education and encourage pollinator stewardship.
