Gasoline Alley Museum, 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
Feeling housebound over the holidays? Looking for a way to refuel and spend quality time with your family? Gather your visiting friends and relatives and head down to Heritage Park for the Winter CARnival at Gasoline Alley Museum.
Try your hand at a variety of activities, games and challenges and discover how we get around in the cold northern winter. Explore the many ways Canadians have been “Dashing Through the Snow” for generations; from skis and snowshoes to sleds, toboggans and even cars.
Join in the hands-on fun including:
Snowshoe Relay - How fast do you think you can move in snowshoes? Race against another athlete or try to beat the clock!
Clear the Rink - Do you know what a Zamboni is? Drop by the Family Gallery and design your own ice cleaning dream machine.
Harnessing Up - See how quickly you can harness up your faithful husky dog. Race against the clock and perhaps get your name on the “Musher’s Wall of Fame” right beside our racing sled.
Ski Fever - Practice your technique while you learn awesome trivia about cross country skiing. Spin the wheel to discover your mystery question and then ski the course in search of the answer.
Race to the Bottom - You choose the fastest way to rocket down a Snow covered Mountain. Will the snowshoer beat the dog sled, or the cross-country skier beat the toboggan?
Ready For the Road? - Take on the challenge of collecting all the supplies you’ll need when you hit the cold and icy winter road.
Dash through the snow to our indoor Winter Carnival at Gasoline Alley!
