Selkirk Grille Restaurant at Heritage Park Launches its Own Website
Calgary, AB – Nov 29, 2018 – The Selkirk Grille at Heritage Park now has its own dedicated website. The new site, www.SelkirkGrille.ca features the restaurant’s seasonal menus, upcoming events and an online booking option.
The restaurant, located at the front of Heritage Park’s gates opened in April 2009 as part of a massive expansion that included Gasoline Alley Museum and the Haskayne Mercantile Block. All information about the restaurant was previously found on Heritage Park’s website.
Selkirk 5931 is a powerful steam-locomotive that traversed the Rocky Mountain’s Selkirk range in the 1950s. Today, this mighty locomotive greets guests at the entrance to Heritage Park, and serves as the inspiration, and name behind the Selkirk Grille.
Using local, seasonal ingredients, including produce from Heritage Park’s own organic gardens, the Selkirk Grille serves up a unique dining experience that takes guests on a cross-Canada journey, true to the golden era of Canada’s railroads.
A prominent sandstone bar, warm wood accents and attention to detail are just some of the inviting features of the restaurant that will whisk you away from the everyday.
Executive Chef, Leighton Smyth and Chef de Cuisine Tobias Larcher infuse elements of Heritage Park’s history into the seasonal menu which features Canadian cuisine with a local and modern twist. Diners can enjoy house-made pates, terrines and cured meats, freshly baked breads, and exquisite desserts, created by the Selkirk Grille’s Pastry Chef, Nicole Buckton. Fresh-cut edible flowers and heirloom variety produce grown in Heritage Park’s own gardens are incorporated into each dish during the growing season and are turned into house-made pickles, jams and compotes during the winter months.
The Selkirk Grille is open year round for lunch and dinner and is located out front of Heritage Park’s admission gates, which means guests are not required to pay park admission to visit the restaurant.
Weekly specials include a weekday express lunch deal, a Wednesday prix fixe dinner menu and half priced bottles of wine on Thursdays. The Selkirk Grille also hosts special evening events such as the popular Dinner and a Movie series, New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s dinners and Friday Night Flights, wine pairing dinners.
